There is power in our words! When we speak out we are making a verbal commitment to follow through. We continue to encourage you to post videos! Let the world know who you are and hear your voice!
We also encourage you to speak a personal pledge. For many that are apart of the “We Will Wait” movement, faith in God is the foundation of their commitment. We encourage you to pray and commit to God your decision to wait. For those who don’t have faith in God or are searching and still asking questions we encourage you also to make a personal pledge that you will live by.
The power of our words can’t be overstated! Here is an example of a pledge that you can use or build yours around.
Lord, today I commit to waiting, to have sex with my husband/wife. In a world that says I am not normal, I will stand for Your truth and values. By waiting, I am upholding the Biblical standard you have set for my life. I can’t do this on my own. Everyday my eyes, mind and heart are nexposed to messages, images, and temptations that the enemy will use to try and trip me up. The pressure is great and temptation may find me but my desire to stand strong will guide me. I need your strength and wisdom to live this commitment out. Give me patience, instill in me your perspective, transplant in me Your heart, and give me strength to do Your will. I will fix my thoughts “…on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise,” (Philippians 4:8 NLT). Lord, may my commitment to wait give strength to others.
